DRYSUIT DIVER

COURSE OVERVIEW

Want to stay warm? Want to extend your scuba diving season? Then dive dry. A dry suit seals you off from the water and keeps you comfortable, even in surprisingly cold water. There is incredible diving in the UK and in some areas, conditions are even better in colder months. Becoming a dry suit diver allows you to expand your boundaries and dive more places, more often.

COURSE PREREQUISITES

Complete PADI Drysuit Speciality E-learning modules prior to the course start date. The E-learning time commitment is 2-4 hours.

Must complete Drysuit Orientation BEFORE the drysuit course call to book FREE OF CHARGE.

Minimum age 12 years

Drysuit Orientation, One day, two open water dives in Andark Lake

ENTRY FEE: £12.00

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

The first thing you’ll discover is which dry suit style and accompanying undergarments are right for you and the diving you’ll do. You will also learn how to take care of your dry suit.

During two open water dives, you will practice

Putting on and taking off your dry suit with minimal assistance.

Mastering buoyancy control using your dry suit.

Dive safety procedures when using a dry suit.

WHAT'S INCLUDED IN PRICES

PADI Drysuit Speciality E-learning and use of all the expensive scuba equipment (Drysuits, weights, cylinders, BCD and regulator). If you wish to bring your own drysuit please do so, or a great range of drysuits is available from the Andark store at preferential prices for Andark students. View the range here.

THE SCUBA GEAR

Clearly a dry suit is necessary along with your basic scuba equipment

Gloves, thermals, hood and boots are necessary when diving in colder waters but also based on your comfort.

Your PADI Instructor will explain other gear or equipment options you may need to dive comfortably with your dry suit. For example, because you’re more buoyant in a dry suit than in a wetsuit, you may want a different weight system setup, like a harness.

What's Included

All equipment and fun is supplied, apart from your Mask & snorkel. You will need to bring your own or purchase a set as a package price with the course. You will also need to bring a swimming costume, an old T shirt to wear in the pool and a towel.
