Join us for an underwater and beach clean-up on November 5th 2016!

Together with Andark Diving I will be hosting the Project Aware specialty Dive against Debris. We will talk about how trash pollutes the marine environment and how to organize an underwater and beach clean-up. And we will put our words into action too!

The Hamble River can use a bit of a clean-up after a long and busy summer. So from the slipway behind the Old Ship we will be collecting all sorts of rubbish under and above water.

We start at 9 am with check in and presentations at Andark. High water is estimated around 2 pm, so we aim to start diving and cleaning up the beach around 1 pm.

You can join just the clean-up, wet or dry in the afternoon or you can do the full specialty. This also counts towards PADI Master Scuba Diver. Please contact Carl at Andark for more information on costs for the specialty and certification or equipment rental.

And afterwards we will of course close the day with recording our finds and handing out certificates for participation or the specialty in the Old Ship!

What do you need to bring? Besides yourself and your dive equipment, please bring a pen/paper for the theory and a mesh bag and protective gloves for the clean-up. We will provide bin liners and help dispose of the rubbish.

Please contact Carl at Andark (01489-581755) to sign up. More information about the course? Visit www.projectaware.org or send me an email: Margriet.schuur@padi.com.
